Portlet Factory, Version 6.1.2

Adding a feature set to an IBM WebSphere Portlet Factory project

Feature sets provide a convenient way of packaging functionality for use by the members of a development team. Follow this procedure to add a feature set to a project. A feature set is a set of the necessary files for a builder or set of builders. A feature set may contain models, profile sets, builders, and classes, One benefit of feature sets is that they do not add overhead in your application and WAR file unrelated to feature you are trying to implement. You can add or remove feature sets to or from the project at any time.

Note: There is an issue with adding the Excel feature set and opening a model that contains Excel builders If you add the Excel feature set to your project and open a model that contains the Excel builders, you see a model generation error (com.bowstreet.webapp.engine.MethodGeneratorException). The problem occurs because the classes have not been compiled when you open the model. To avoid the problem, restart Eclipse. If you already have the Excel feature set installed when Eclipse starts, or add the feature set during project creation, the issue does not occur.

  1. In the popup menu, you add a feature set by clicking Properties > WebSphere Portlet Factory Project Properties > Feature Info

  2. In the Feature Info pane, you can select the feature set that contains the builders to use in your project.
