Portlet Factory, Version 6.1.2

Using Project Explorer and the Model Navigator view

Project Explorer is an enhanced version of the standard Navigator.

The Project Explorer allows you to display the complete tree of an IBM® WebSphere Portlet Factory project, specify a subset of the project components to display in that tree, and perform refactoring on selected elements in the tree.

The Model Navigator view is a subset of Project Explorer that provides access to only the models and profile sets defined in your projects. Click Window > Show View > Model Navigator to display the view.

The Project Explorer provides project-level folder access to some of the primary project artifacts: Java Source, Models, and Profiles. These project-level folders are provided as a convenience for working with files that are located in folders in the WEB-INF directory. This arrangement of folders lets you access the artifacts without your having to drill down in that directory. You can work with the files in these folders by navigating to them from the special project-level folders, or from the folders under WEB-INF where the resources are actually located in the project file structure.

Project Explorer is supported in Eclipse 3.2 and Rational Application Developer version 7. Link folders for models, profiles, and Java source are provided for earlier versions of Eclipse and Rational Application Developer to allow the user to quickly locate and navigate to these resources in the standard Navigator.

Note: WebSphere Portlet Factory content is only displayed in WebSphere Portlet Factory projects.
