Portlet Factory, Version 6.1.2

Modification of an IBM WebSphere Portlet Factory project

You can modify a WebSphere Portlet Factory project in a variety of ways.

For example, you can add a feature set to it, or even deploy the project to a totally different type of application server. You might also modify a project by creating a WAR from the project. All these options are available from the project popup menu and are accessed by right-clicking the project in Project Explorer.

In the popup menu, you add a feature set by clicking Properties > WebSphere Portlet Factory Project Properties > Feature Info. In the Feature Info pane, you can select the feature set that contains the builders to use in your project.

You can build various types of WARs. In the popup menu, click Application Server WAR, Portal Server WAR, or Rich Client and the appropriate item from the submenu.

By clicking Properties > WebSphere Portlet Factory Project Properties > Project Deployment Configurations, you can view or change the deployment configurations that are available to the project.

Note: When you modify a project, WebSphere Portlet Factory Designer removes files from the project and then re-adds files to the project. As a result, you might see warnings that a modify operation will delete certain files (for example, web.xml). Deleted files are added back into the project as the modify operation completes. You have the opportunity to preserve your changed copies in a backup location before you reply to the warning dialog. Any changes you made to deleted or overwritten files are lost if you do not preserve your changed copies and indicate Yes or Yes To All when you are asked to delete or overwrite.
