Add or removing a catalog attachment file

You can add only language-specific attachment files to an attachment. Ensure that the languages for the attachment files do not overlap. Two attachment files cannot apply to the same language.

 

Add a catalog attachment file

If you add an attachment file to a catalog attachment, all catalog assets with the same attachment will have the new attachment file as well.

To add an attachment file to a catalog attachment:

  1. View the attachment.

  2. Click Change.

  3. Click Add Language Files.

  4. Perform one of the following tasks:

    If you want to add a language-specific attachment file by uploading a new file:

    1. Click Browse.

    2. In the Available attachments pane, select the folder to which you want to upload your attachment.

    3. In the Attachments pane, click Browse.

    4. In the Choose file window, select the attachment and click Open.

    5. In the Attachments pane, click Upload. The newly uploaded file displays.

    6. Select the newly uploaded file and click Assign.

    If you want to add a language-specific attachment file by browsing the available attachments:

    1. Click Browse.

    2. Browse the directory tree in the Available attachments pane. The contents of each directory displays in the Attachments pane.

    3. Select an attachment and click Assign.

    If you want to add a language-specific attachment file by searching available attachments:

    1. Click Search.

    2. In the Find attachments pane, enter your search criteria and click Find.

    3. Select an attachment and click Assign.

    If you want to add a language-specific attachment file as a URL attachment:

    1. Click URL.

    2. On the URL page, enter the a fully qualified URL to use an attachment. For example, http://www.mystore.net

    3. To preview the URL in a new window, click Preview URL.

    4. Click Assign.

  5. Click the Language link next to the thumbnail image of the attachment file or URL.

    Depending how languages are assigned to the attachment file, you might need to change the languages of other attachment files. By default, the first attachment file added to an attachment is assigned to all languages.

  6. Select the languages to which the file or URL applies.

    If attachment has multiple files, ensure that the languages for the files do not overlap. Two attachment files cannot apply to the same language.

  7. Click OK.

 

Remove a catalog attachment file

To remove an attachment file from a catalog attachment:

  1. View the attachment.

  2. Click Change.

  3. Select the attachment file to remove from the Attachment Files list.

  4. Click Delete.
