Product Manager information roadmap

The Product Manager is responsible for determining the best way to display, price, and sell products in the online store. The Product Manager traces customer purchases and suggests promotions. The Product Manager also determines suggestive selling techniques, and creates and manages auctions and bid controls.

The Product Manager uses the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator to perform these tasks:

 

Store information

• Create, change, and delete return reasons,

• Request and view business intelligence reports, such as marketing and sales reports. Many of the business reports are generated by WebSphere Commerce Analyzer.

• Participate in asynchronous collaborative business discussions in the form of workspaces using Lotus QuickPlace

 

Marketing

• List, create, change, delete, and duplicate customer segments

  • View a summary of each segment

• Manage campaigns:

  • List, create, change, and delete campaigns

  • List, create, change, and delete campaign activities

  • View campaign activity statistics

• Manage e-Marketing Spots

  • Create, change, and delete e-Marketing Spots

  • Schedule Web activities on e-Marketing Spots

• Manage campaign activities

• Create, change, delete awareness ads

  • View a summary of each awareness ad

 

Merchandise

• Manage merchandise:

  • Find and list catalog entries

  • Change catalog entry types, such as products, SKUs, bundles and kits

  • Find, list, create, and change merchandising associations (such as up-sells or cross-sells)

  • Find and list expected inventory records

  • Find and list product vendors

  • Manage sales catalogs

• Manage promotions:

  • List, create, and delete promotions

  • View a summary of each promotion

  • Activate and deactivate promotions

• Find, list, create, and change categories

  • Find and list categories

• Use Product Advisor:

  • Help customers find the products they need, including exploring the catalog, comparing products, and using question and answers to narrow down shopping options

  • View Product Advisor statistics

• Manage auctions

  • Find, list, create, change, and retract auctions

  • List, create, and change auction styles

  • List, create, change, and delete bid control rules

  • Close the bidding for auctions

  • List and withdraw bids for customers
