This example describes how to display the content of a document library in a web site using Document Manager to manage the document library, and Personalization and Web Content Management to display the content.

  1. Stage one: Create a document folder
    Create a folder called "Images" in Document Manager and then import a set of images.

  2. Stage two: Create a set of business rules
    Create a set of business rules in Personalization. These will be used in Web Content Management to display different views of the "Images" folder.

  3. Stage three: Create a simple workflow
    Before creating web content using Web Content Management create a simple workflow to use when creating content items.

  4. Stage four: Create a site framework
    Create a site framework to store the content items that will be created in this example.

  5. Stage five: Create a set of Personalization components
    Use Personalization components to display the content retrieved by the business rules created in stage two.

  6. Stage six: Create an authoring template
    Before creating content items create an authoring template. The content items you create will be based on this template.

  7. Stage seven: Create a set of content items
    These content items will be used to reference the Personalization components created in stage five.

  8. Stage eight: Create two image components
    These images will be used in the presentation template as navigation buttons.

  9. Stage nine: Create a presentation template
    The presentation template is used to define the layout and design of each Web page.

  10. Stage ten: Create a template map
    A template map is required to link each content item to the presentation template created in stage nine.

  11. First preview
    Preview the content item named "ImagesAscendingByName".

  12. Stage eleven: Sort the displayed list
    In this stage, buttons will be added to the list of images to enable users to sort the list of images by name and date.

  13. Second preview
    Preview the content item named "ImagesAscendingByName".

  14. Stage twelve: Add a latest images list
    In this stage, one additional Personalization component is used to display the latest images to be added to the image library.

  15. Final preview
    Preview the content item named "ImagesAscendingByName".
