Fixpack fails to install

What kind of problem are you having when you try to install a fixpack

If none of these problems match yours, or these do not resolve your problem, view the log file created by the fix pack installer, which can be found in the WAS installation directory in the file /logs/update/[date_nnnnnn_wasversion_fixpackversion].log. Also, review the installation instructions as described in the readme file provided in the update/docs subdirectory of the fix pack and on the download web site. If the information provided does not solve your problem, see Troubleshooting the Installation. If that does not provide you with a resolution to your problem, contact IBM support for further assistance

This problem can occur if you have extracted the fix pack outside of the WebSphere Application Server directory structure. If this is the case, try extracting the fix pack directly into the Websphere Application Server install root/update directory, as described in the readme files provided online and with the fix pack.
