Customizing Web content authoring
Base level content authors may not create anything but content
items. You can modify the authoring portlet to hide different sections of
the authoring portlet from different users and groups. You can also use authoring
templates to simplify the content item form itself so that content authors
are only required to complete a small number of fields.
- Customizing an authoring portlet
While many users will use the standard authoring portlet, you can customize an authoring portlet specifically for content creation. You can also configure Web content libraries to control user's access to the different sections of the authoring portlet user interface.
- Working with authoring templates
Before creating content items, create a set of authoring templates. You use authoring templates to simplify the content creation process by providing default field values for content creators and hiding fields where possible.
