Specifying default content settings
You define the default settings for content items in
the "Default Content Settings" view of the authoring template form.
When specifying default settings for the content form generated from
the authoring template, you can define two kinds of information:
- Standard item metadata, such as identification information or workflow
settings.
- Element-specific information, such as the default value of the element
and properties related to how the element is displayed or processed. In addition
you can enter help text for each element or apply a customized JSP file to
tailor how the element is rendered in the form.
- Defining Metadata for a content item
Define the Metadata for a content item that is generated from the authoring template.
- Adding elements to the content form
Add elements to the content form generated from the authoring template. You can define default values for the elements and set properties that dictate how the elements are displayed or processed.
- Defining display settings of fields and elements
You can define the display properties of field and elements displayed on a content form. Different field and element types will have different display properties.
- Customizing elements using JSP
A "custom JSP" field is available on some element types when added to an authoring template. You use this to reference a JSP file to use instead of the element's default view in the user interface. You can write JSP to control the look and feel of an element, and to restrict the values that can be entered into an element.
