Set up the Common Mail portlet as a remote portlet

To set up the Common Mail portlet for remote use, set up two WebSphere Portal Express servers, the WSRP Producer and the WSRP Consumer.

To enable WSRP support for an instance of Common Mail to be used as a remote portlet, add the parameter wsrp_remote_portlet to the portlet instance and give it the value true. You can add the parameter by selecting, from the portal main menu, Administration > Portlet Management > Portlets, searching for and selecting the portlet, clicking the Configure (wrench) icon, and following the instructions on the page for adding a parameter.

Note: Due to current limitations, a WSRP Producer that hosts a remote mail portlet must be directly accessible by browser. If not, pop-up browser components used by the remote portlet, such as Spell Checker and the People Finder, will not work.
