Promoting your page

After you publish your page to the target server and have tested it, you can promote the page so that all users on the target server with the appropriate access rights can view the page.

Perform the following steps to promote a page on the target server:

  1. Test the page on the target server to ensure that it is correct.
  2. If necessary, select the server where the published page resides by performing the following steps:

    1. Right click on Select a server.
    2. Click Select Server > servername.

A message displays saying that the server was retrieved successfully.

    3. Click on the plus sign next to the server name to expand the server's site tree.
  3. Right click on the label or page or URL that you wish to promote, then click Promote this page. If you promote a label or a URL, the promotion takes place without further prompting. When promoting a page, or a page subtree, choose a customization option, as described in the table below.

    Promoted item Customization options

To add and update pages and remove customization

Choose this option if the subtree already exists on your target server.
