Installing IBM MQ Advanced for z/OS

IBM MQ Advanced for z/OS is a bundling of the Advanced Message Security for z/OS and Managed File Transfer for z/OS features. Use of either of these features requires separate entitlement to run a queue manager through either IBM MQ for z/OS, IBM MQ for z/OS Value Unit Edition (VUE), or IBM MQ Advanced for z/OS VUE.

Use this topic to understand how you install IBM MQ Advanced for z/OS on the system. Important: We should only make use of the IBM MQ Advanced Message Security for z/OS feature if you have entitlement to one of the IBM MQ Advanced for z/OS, IBM MQ Advanced for z/OS VUE, or IBM MQ Advanced Message Security for z/OS products.

We should only install and make used of the Managed File Transfer for z/OS feature if you have entitlement to one of the IBM MQ Advanced for z/OS, IBM MQ Advanced for z/OS VUE, or IBM MQ Managed File Transfer for z/OS products.

Procedure

  1. Installing Advanced Message Security for z/OS (AMS) There is no longer a separate enablement module for AMS. If your enterprise has AMS entitlement, we must enable AMS using the AMSPROD attribute.
  2. Plan the Managed File Transfer installation. See Plan for Managed File Transfer for items we need to consider before installing the component.
  3. Install the product by following the instructions detailed in the IBM MQ Advanced for z/OS Program Directory, which can be downloaded from the IBM Publications Center (see IBM MQ for z/OS Program Directory PDF files).
