Import statistics and metrics into a spreadsheet

Activities saves statistic and metrics data in comma-separated-value (CSV) format. You can import the Activities statistics or metrics files into any spreadsheet program that supports the importing of CSV files. After you import the data, you can use available spreadsheet functions to analyze or graph the statistics and metrics.


Here is a typical example of the steps required to import the statistics file into a spreadsheet. This example uses Microsoft Excel, but the steps are similar for other spreadsheet products.


To import one of the statistics files or a metric file into a spreadsheet:

  1. From the Microsoft Excel menu, select File > Open.

  2. In the Files of type field, choose Text Files,.

  3. Select the file that you want to import, and then click Open.

  4. In the Spreadsheet Text Import Wizard, click Next.

  5. Under Delimiters, select the Comma check box, and then click Finish to import the data into the spreadsheet.

  6. Chart the statistic or metrics values by clicking cell A1, the dates title cell, and then from the Microsoft Excel menu, select Insert > Chart to open the Chart Wizard.

  7. Use spreadsheet tools to format the chart as you want to.
