Choose a scheduler for a job


Overview

Activities uses the open source Quartz scheduler.

The Activities server uses one of the following schedulers to run its jobs:

To define a job's scheduler, edit the configuration property associated with the task that you want to perform. The names of configuration properties that specify a job's scheduler end in .scheduler. Be sure to follow the required steps for checking out and checking in the configuration files.

For example, to run the job that completes inactive activities on a specific server after a certain number of days, update the value of the property...

..and set it to a specific server using the syntax...

Follow the instructions for editing configuration files; check out the configuration file, and then follow the instructions in Applying property changes to check it back in and restart the servers.

After you assign the job to a scheduler, you can use an administrative command to run the job.
