IBM Tivoli Composite Application Manager for Application Diagnostics, Version 7.1.0.1

Managing server database

You must have a database server available for the Managing Server. The installation program can install a database server and create the database. Alternatively, you need to create a database named octigate on an existing IBM DB2 or Oracle database server. (You can change this database name).

You can use the IBM Tivoli Monitoring database server. However, ensure that it has enough spare capacity in both storage and load. On large installations, the database is likely to be used intensively, so it is best practice to use a separate host for it.

Hosts where the Visualization Engine, kernel, and Archive Agent are installed must have access to the database server.

For more information on setting up the database for the Managing Server, see ITCAM for Application Diagnostics Managing Server Installation Guide.
