The following properties are listed in the md.properties file which is the properties file for the Message Dispatcher:
- component.listen.port
- The default port number is 9106. The port number that the Message Dispatcher listens to accepts incoming requests. Check that this port number is available in the server running the ITCAM for Application Diagnostics Managing Server. You may also change this value to any other port number available on the server.
Example:
component.listen.port=9106- component.id
- This value specifies the unique identifier for a component in the ITCAM for Application Diagnostics Managing Server. This ID is generated during the installation.

component.id=30ca500d-3798-d601-3ccc-00065b0ea116- template.directory
- The default value is MS_home/etc. Unless you want to move the template directory to a different path, changing this value is not recommended. This value specifies the directory that keeps the message template files of the ITCAM for Application Diagnostics Managing Server. When sending an outgoing message, the Message Dispatcher searches for the target message template file based on this value.
Example:
template.directory=/opt/IBM/itcam/WebSphere/MS/etc- smtp.host
- The default value is the IP address or host name that is entered in the installation program. This value specifies the IP address or host name of the SMTP server. In order to send an outgoing e-mail, an SMTP server is required by the Message Dispatcher.
