Changing the tw_user password in an ND cluster environment

To change the tw_user password that you specified when installed IBM BPM in an ND cluster environment, use the Process Administrative console to change the password and the WebSphere Application Server administrative console to change the password in the corresponding authentication alias.

If you do not have BPMAdmin_Auth_Alias defined in your environment, your profiles were most likely created before you upgraded to IBM BPM version 8.0. In this case, you must follow the process for changing the password in the IBM BPM version 7.5.1 information center.

If users are maintained in federated repositories, then the passwords for the users need to be changed in the repositories. If tw_user is a user from NDCluster LDAP for example, then the password must be changed in the NDCluster LDAP.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the Process Admin Console using the administrative account. The administrative account has the username and password that was specified when the product was installed.
  2. Change the password for the tw_user account.

    1. In the Process Admin Console, click User Management > User Management.

    2. Input tw_user in the Retrieve Profile field and click Retrieve.

    3. Click tw_user in the Internal IBM BPM Users section.

    4. In the Internal IBM BPM User Details section , type in the new Password.

  5. Go to Enterprise Applications > IBM_BPM_PerformanceDW_< node and server location> > User RunAs roles, for example: Enterprise Applications > IBM_BPM_PerformanceDW_Node01_Server01 > User RunAs roles.
  6. Change the password for the roles with which the tw_user user name is associated and apply the change.

For example, if the twem and twuser roles are associated with the tw_user user name, change the password for those roles.

  7. In a ND environment, you must synchronize the nodes that contain Process Center, Process Server, or Performance Data Warehouse cluster members.

    1. In the administrative console, click System administration > Nodes.

    2. Select all of the nodes and click Full Resynchronize.
    3. Stop and restart all of the clusters and servers.
  8. Restart the cluster members.
