Failed to log in to Process Designer because cache should be cleared

When you log in to IBM Process Designer you may receive an error message that says that a call failed on the server. The error results if the browser is unable to open the URL that is passed to it.

The error message you receive is similar to the following message. Though Process Designer may open, it will be a blank page.

500com.google.gwt.user.client.rpc.StatusCodeException: The call failed on the server; see server log for details.

On Windows, a path that is too long can cause this problem. To correct the problem, clear the cache in your Internet Explorer browser.

  1. In the browser, select Tools > Internet Options > General.
  2. Under Browsing history, click Delete.

  3. Select Temporary Internet files.

If you have used a long, customized path to the product, you might need to minimize the server install path.

For example, use a path like C:\BPM.
