For details about the Formula Editor and its component view, see (Formula Editor).
The function component shows the function and its arguments.
Figure 1. Edit the Selected Function page
Procedure
- To work with the functions Select the Function name from the list in the Formula Editor.
- The description of the selected function is shown after the function.
- Function argument sections are shown after the function name. The appropriate number of arguments for the selected function are shown. A description specific to the function selected is shown.
- Simple arguments (attributes and literals) can be edited without having to change the selected component to the operand as described in Formula Editor Attribute component and (Formula Editor Literal components).
- Complex arguments, which consist of operators or other functions, can be edited by clicking Edit. This action highlights the argument component instead of the entire function.
- For functions that take a variable number of arguments, add arguments by clicking Insert or remove arguments by clicking Remove in addition to the actions described in (Formula Editor common options).
- For the getenv function, a configuration property can be chosen by clicking Insert as shown in (Figure 2). If you select the Configuration property choice, the Configuration Properties window is displayed.
