Performance and service testing with Rational ClearQuest

Note: Rational Quality Manager has replaced Rational ClearQuest

You can submit defects to Rational ClearQuest from the test log in Rational Performance Tester or Rational Service Tester for SOA Quality.

  1. Install the Rational ClearQuest client software.

    Do not install Rational ClearQuest in the same package group as Rational Performance Tester or Rational Service Tester for SOA Quality.

  2. In the Rational ClearQuest Maintenance Tool, add a connection to the defect database to use.

    Provide an SMTP server address, and verify that you can submit a defect.

  3. Install Rational Performance Tester or Rational Service Tester for SOA Quality, if it is not installed already.

    Do not install Rational Performance Tester or Rational Service Tester for SOA Quality in the same package group as Rational ClearQuest.

  4. Install the Rational ClearQuest plug-ins by using the following repository in Installation Manager...

  5. Start Rational Performance Tester or Rational Service Tester for SOA Quality in full Eclipse mode, and then open the Rational ClearQuest perspective.

  6. Open the ClearQuest Connection Management window...

      ClearQuest | Database | Manage Connections

  7. Select the connection to the Rational ClearQuest database, and then click Connect.

  8. Click Close.

  9. Open the perspective

      Window | Open Perspective | Performance Test (or Service Test for Rational Service Tester for SOA Quality)

  10. Open a test log.

    If no test log is available, run a test.

  11. In the test log, click the Event tab.

  12. In the ClearQuest section of the Event page, click New. The Create window opens.

  13. In the Create window, enter the information about the defect, and then click OK to submit the defect.
