Finding and modifying objects in a test object map
You can search for test objects in a test object map based on a property, a value, or either. After the object is found, you can make several types of modifications to its properties and values.
To find and modify objects in a test object map:
Procedure
- Open the Find & Modify dialog box:
- From the Test Object Map menu, click Find > Find & Modify.
- From the Test Object Map toolbar, click the Find: Find & Modify button .
- In the Find Criteria section, search a test object map for the object you want to modify:
- Quick Find, enables you to search for a test object based on the property or value you enter.
- Find by Filters, enables you to create and save find criterion to search for a test object.
- In the Modify actions field, select the modification you want to make:
- To add a property, in the Action field select Add Property; in the Property field, select the property to add; and in the Value field, enter a value for the property. In the Weight field enter a number from 0 to 100 to indicate the importance of the property when searching for it in an application-under-test. - To remove the property, in the Action field select Remove Property and in the Property field select the property you want to delete.
- To change the value of a property, in the Action field select Change Property, in the Property field select the property, and in the Value field enter a value for the property.
- To change the weight of a property, in the Action field select Change Weight and in the Property field select the property. In the Weight field enter a number from 0 to 100 to indicate the importance of the property when searching for it in an application-under-test. - To change the value and weight of a property, in the Action field select Change Weight, in the Property field select the property, and in the Value field enter a value for the property. In the Weight field enter a number from 0 to 100 to indicate the importance of the property when searching for it in an application-under-test. - Click Next. Functional Tester highlights the first occurrence of the test object that meets the criterion you specify.
- Do one of the following:
- To change the object as you specified in the Modify actions section and move to the next test object that matches the search criterion, click Modify.
- To change all objects in the test object map that matched the search criteria, click Modify All.
- To stop making modifications to the current test object and find the next test object that matches the find criteria, click Next.
- To move to the next object in the test object map that meets the criterion you specified, click Next.
