Creating a symptom database

  1. Perform one of the following:

The New Symptom Database wizard opens.

    New Symptom Database

  2. Specify the directory in which you want the symptom database to be created, using the Location field. You can either browse for an existing directory or specify a brand new one. If you specify a directory that does not exist, select the Create complete folder structure check box so that you will not be prompted for confirmation to create the new directory you specified.

  3. Specify a name for the database in the Name field. The symptom database gets the extension .trcdbxmi.

  4. Optionally, you can type a short description for the symptom database in the Description text area.

  5. Click Finish. The file associated with the symptom database is created in the directory that you named.

Note: You cannot delete the top-level node (the database) using the symptom database editor. To delete the database, select the file in the Navigator view; then select Delete from its pop-up menu.
