Creating a symptom database
- Perform one of the following:
- Select File > New > Other >
Profiling and Logging > Symptom Database and click Next.
- Right-click in the Log Navigator on the Symptom Databases folder and select
New > Symptom Database.
The New Symptom Database wizard opens.
- Specify the directory in which you want the symptom database to be
created, using the Location field. You can either browse for an existing
directory or specify a brand new one. If you specify a directory that does
not exist, select the Create complete folder structure check box so
that you will not be prompted for confirmation to create the new directory
you specified.
- Specify a name for the database in the Name field. The symptom
database gets the extension .trcdbxmi.
- Optionally, you can type a short description for the symptom database in
the Description text area.
- Click Finish. The file associated with the symptom database is
created in the directory that you named.
Note: You cannot delete the top-level node (the database) using the
symptom database editor. To delete the database, select the file in the
Navigator view; then select Delete from its pop-up menu.
