Adding a Registry to the IBM Web Services Explorer

Although the Web Services Explorer comes populated with several registries, you can also add additional registries to your list of favorites.

Prerequisites:

  1. Register with a registry

  2. Launch the IBM Web Services Explorer

When you are ready to publish your business entity and Web service, add a production registry to the IBM Web Services Explorer. In order to publish your business entity and Web service to a production registry, first register with the registry. The registry will provide instructions for registering. For more information on registries, refer to Registering with a registry.

The WebSphere UDDI Registry is a UDDI v3 compliant registry for Web services in a private intranet environment. Within the WebSphere UDDI Registry, you can publish and test your internal e-business applications in a secure, private environment.

The UDDI Business Registry is a set of global replicated registries. For a list of public registries refer to www.uddi.org/register.html

The IBM UDDI Business Registry is a public production registry maintained by IBM. For more information on the IBM UDDI Business Registry refer to http://uddi.ibm.com

  1. To add a Registry to the IBM Web Services Explorer from Favorites, do the following:

    1. Click the Favorites icon

      Picture of the Favorites icon. in the main toolbar.

    2. Expand Favorite UDDI Registries.

    3. Select a registry then click the Add to UDDI Page icon

  2. To add a Registry to the IBM Web Services Explorer manually, do the following:

    1. In the UDDI Navigator pane, click the UDDI Main node.

    2. In the Actions pane, enter the Registry name and Inquiry URL of the registry you want to add.

    3. Click Go.
