Creating objects

In WebArt Designer, the different types of graphics that you can create are called objects. You can create shape, photo frame, logo, button, rollover image, and image objects. You can change an object's font, color, and size, and in some cases, you can also add effects to objects.

You can stack objects in layers on top of each other to organize them. Stacking refers to the order in which you place layers of objects on the canvas. The object placed last on the canvas is at the top of the Object Stack, while the object placed first on the canvas is at the bottom of the stack. If you are working with several overlapping objects, the object at the top of the object stack will be visible on the canvas and may cover objects lower on the stack.

Creating a shape object
Shape objects consist of lines created with drawing tools.

Creating a photo frame object
Photo frame objects are shapes that you could use to frame an object. You can customize the frame color, size, and shape.

Creating a logo object
Logo objects consist of text that you can customize. You can create a logo object by entering text directly on the canvas, using the logo wizard, or by using templates in the Template Gallery.

Creating a button object
Button objects are controls that you could design, for example, for a Web site. They usually consist of text and images. You can create button objects with the templates available in the Template Gallery or with the Button wizard.

Creating rollover images
Rollover objects consist of two images: an original image and an image that replaces it when you move the mouse pointer over it. The original and replacement images can be button and logo objects.
