Adding data access to portlets

Portlets can be programmed to access and display data from a variety of sources. Some of these are listed below:

• Data from Enterprise Information Systems (EIS) such as SAP or Siebel. See Accessing EIS data using WPAI SDO for information.

• People awareness information using collaboration services of WebSphere Portal. See Adding people awareness to portlet JSP files for information.

• Portlet configuration attributes from objects such as PortletPreferences (JSR 168 API) and PortletData (IBM API). See Accessing configuration objects from portlet JSP files for information.
