Configuration wizard log files
The configuration wizard generates log files each time you run it. The log file can help you to debug problems. To debug problems, enable tracing in the WAS admin console for server1, and reproduce the problem. The trace string is com.ibm.wplc.config.wizard.*=all.
There are a number of error messages that we can ignore:
- If you run the configuration wizard to transfer data to another database, we can ignore the following error message:Unexpected file error: ServiceException: (error code = 305; message = "setFileAttributes requires native support. "; severity = 0)
- For IBM i, we can ignore the following error message: ERROR: Unable to update properties file wp_profile_root/ConfigEngine/config/wkplc.properties.
The log files for the configuration wizard are located in the following directory:
WAS_HOME/profiles/cw_profile/logs/server1
We can view log files from the referenced directory. Log files are also generatethat reflect the name of the task ran. These files are generated after the task has completed. They contain task-specific copies of the output in the configwizard log file and can be used to track output for one specific task when multiple tasks are run. The configwizard log file is generated during task execution and remains in the PortalServer/logs directory after the additional file that reflect the name of the task run are created. Each log file is backed up if a task is run again.
