Install Web Content Manager into an existing Server installation on AIX

If you initially installed the IBM WebSphere Portal Server installation, we can purchase the Content license agreement and install the IBM Web Content Manager features into your existing installation.

To install Web Content Manager into an existing Server installation:

Cluster note: In a clustered environment, complete these steps on all the nodes.

Response file note: We can record and run a response file to install the Web Content Manager features on your existing Server installation. See Use response files to install for information. Use the following steps when recording the response file. Ensure that you exit from the Installation Manager program to complete the recording.

  1. Stop all the appservers.

  2. Open the Installation Manager and complete the following steps to add the content repository:

    1. Go to File > Preferences > Repositories > Add Repositories

    2. Select Browse and navigate to the WebSphere Portal content repository.

    3. Select the content repository file.

    4. Click OK.

    5. Ensure all required repositories are checked.

    6. Ensure that the content repository is after the Server repository in the list.

    7. Click Test Connections to ensure that the Installation Manager can successfully access the directory where the repository is stored.

    8. Select Apply.

    9. Select OK.

  3. On the main Installation Manager panel, select Install to begin the installation process.

  4. On the Install Package: Select packages to install panel, check the box for the additional package that you purchased. Then click Next.
