Verify that Sametime works with iNotes

Log in to the Sametime server to verify that Sametime is working properly, and then into the iNotes portlet to enable the instant messaging feature.

Perform the following steps:

  1. Follow the instructions in the Sametime Installation Guide for logging into the SametimeInstant Messaging server using the Sametime Instant Messaging Connect Client software.

  2. Open the iNotes portlet in a browser and log in.

  3. Select Preferences -> Other, and then select Enable Instant messaging.

  4. Click Chat to test the Sametime Instant Messaging connection.

  5. If the chat link does not appear in iNotes, check that the following line: 

      INotes_WA_SametimeServer=hostname

      has been added to the NOTES.INI file, making sure that hostname is the fully qualified domain name of the Sametime server.
