Configure the reserved authoring portlet

The reserved authoring portlet is essential to the proper operation of Web content pages and the JSR 286 Web Content Viewer, so it is important that the configuration of the reserved authoring portlet reflect similar settings for performing authoring tasks as the configuration of other instances of the IBM Lotus Web Content Management authoring portlet.

  1. Log in to the portal as an administrator.

  2. Click Administration in the tool bar.

  3. Under Portal User Interface in the navigation tree, click Manage Pages.

  4. Search for the page with the unique name of...

      com.ibm.wps.hiddenpage.wcm.Authoring_Portlet

  5. Click the Edit Page Layout icon (small pencil) for the page.

  6. Select Edit shared settings from the portlet menu, and specify any settings for the reserved authoring portlet.

Changes made to the reserved authoring portlet with the Edit shared settings mode affect only the reserved authoring portlet and no other instances of the authoring portlet. Make the same changes to other authoring portlet instances using the Edit shared settings mode for each instance.

Alternatively, you could make the same changes to every instance of the authoring portlet by using the Configure mode from a single instance. Changes made in every instance of the authoring portlet using the Configure mode also affects the reserved authoring portlet.

  7. Save changes.
