Portlet Factory, Version 6.1.2
Creating an IBM WebSphere Portlet Factory project
The first step in building an application is to create a project. This project will contain all the artifacts and features required by the application.
- Set up the environment.
- Launch the Eclipse or Rational Application Developer client into which you installed WebSphere Portlet Factory.
- From the menu, click Window > Open Perspective > Other > WebSphere Portlet Factory.
- From the File menu, select New > WebSphere Portlet Factory Project.
- Provide a name for the project and then click Next.
- In the Feature Set page, select the feature sets to include in the project and click Next.
You can add feature sets to or remove feature sets from the project at a later time.
- Click Next to continue to the Deployment Configuration screen.
The current configuration settings are displayed on the Deployment Configuration screen. If WebSphere Application Server CE is installed on your system when you install WebSphere Portlet Factory or it was already on your system, the WebSphere Application Server CE server configuration is created for you automatically.
You can add a new configuration, or edit the currently selected configuration.
- Optional: Edit an existing configuration for the project for your particular environment.
- Click Finish to complete creating the project.
If the target server for your deployment configuration is not running, you are prompted to start it. If you plan to create and test applications, you should start the server. Otherwise, you can start the server later.
You are prompted to deploy your project now. If you click Yes, WAR files are deployed locally and are automatically deployed when you make changes to the project.
