WAR interactions at project creation
When you create your project, you can create a development WAR.
If you create a development WAR, you are asked whether to deploy it.
While most application servers dynamically deploy WAR files, some do not. Consult the documentation for your application server to find out if automatic deployment of WAR files is supported. If not, you need to manually deploy the development WAR each time you make changes to your project.
IBM® WebSphere® Application Server supports automatic deployment.
Portlet WAR files have the same issue. If your portal server supports automatic deployment, WebSphere Portlet Factory Designer can deploy changes to the portlet WAR automatically. If not, you have to deploy the changes manually. IBM WebSphere Portal server supports automatic deployment.

Once you enter the name of a WebSphere Application Server server to deploy to, the WAR will be automatically deployed as part of project creation.
