Enable process integration
Set up business process integration using single-cell or cross-cell.
Before you perform these procedures, you should have installed and configured IBM WebSphere Portal.
With this release of WebSphere Portal, business processes are always run on a remote IBM WebSphere Process Server server. Therefore, business process integration in WebSphere Portal requires that a corresponding WPS server be available.
To enable business process integration in your WebSphere Portal environment, you install the WPS Client on top of WebSphere Portal and run the configuration task for enabling process integration. In addition to this, depending on whether you are doing single-cell or cross-cell setup, you will also have to federate WebSphere Portal into the WPS cell or configure single sign-on between WebSphere Portal and WPS. After this, business process applications that already exist on the process server and new business process applications that you install on the process server become visible in the portal.
- Understanding cross-cell deployment scenarios
In a cross-cell deployment, IBM WebSphere Portal is managed in a cell that is separate from the cell of the IBM WPS server to which it connects. There are three cross-cell deployment scenarios for enabling your portal environment with business process integration (BPI). Determine which scenario suits your needs for a BPI-enabled portal.- Understanding single-cell deployment scenarios
In a single-cell deployment, IBM WebSphere Portal is managed in the same cell with the IBM WPS server to which it connects. There are two single-cell deployment scenarios for enabling your portal environment with business process integration (BPI). Determine which scenario suits your needs for a BPI-enabled portal.- Verifying the setup of process integration
Verify that you have enabled business process integration in the portal environment. Check to see if required artifacts, properties, pages, and portlets are available.
