Plug-in, Applet Viewer and Web Start
The Javaâ„¢ plug-in is used to run Java applications in the browser. The appletviewer is used to test applications designed to be run in a browser. Java Web Start is used to deploy desktop Java applications over a network, and provides a mechanism for keeping them up-to-date.
