LDAP-specific tasks
LDAP is a protocol that runs over TCP/IP. The LDAP protocol standard includes low-level network protocol definitions plus data representation and handling.
A directory that is accessible through LDAP is commonly termed an LDAP directory. An example of an LDAP server product is the Security Directory Server, which is included with ISAM.
