Change expired passwords

When a password expires, you can no longer use it to log in. If you try to log in with an expired password, we are prompted to change a password.

When a password expires, we are required to change your password. The new password must meet the password strength requirements.

To change a passwords...

  1. From the Your Password Expired page, type your current password in the Current IBM Security Identity Manager password field.
  2. Click on the icon (Context menu icon) next to Review the criteria for my new password to view the password strength requirements.
  3. Under New password, type a new password for the account in this field. Only asterisks (*) are displayed as you type.
  4. Under New password (confirm), type the new password again. Only asterisks (*) are displayed as you type. For sponsored accounts or if password synchronization is disabled, the password change applies only to the current account. If we change the password for an individual account and password synchronization is enabled, the password change applies to all your individual accounts.
  5. Click OK to submit the request to change the IBM Security Identity Manager password.
  6. On the Request Submitted page, click Back to Login Page to return to the IBM Security Identity Manager Login page.

You are logged in to the Welcome page. We can perform any of the tasks that we are authorized to do.
