Create an account request workflow for the Windows local service

The first step in this scenario is to create a workflow used whenever an account is requested for the Windows local service.

In the previous administrator scenario, ISIM administrator assigned a service owner to the Windows local service. In this scenario, the service owner creates an account request workflow for that service.

To design an account request workflow...

  1. Log in to the administrative console as service owner jowner.

  2. From the navigation tree, select Design Workflow > Manage Account Request Workflows.

  3. On the Manage Account Request Workflows page in the Account Request Workflows table, click Create.

  4. On the General notebook pageenter:

    Name
    Enter Windows local service approval.

    Description
    Enter Approval for the Windows local service.

  5. From the Service type list on the General notebook page, select Windows Local Account Profile.

  6. Click the Activities tab. On the Activities page:
    1. In the Select method for defining activities field, select Simple. If to create a different sequence of activities for approval, there is an advanced design.

    2. From the Simple Activities Definition table, select Create an approval activityand click Go.

  7. On the Approval Activity page, specify the following information and click OK:

    Activity name
    Enter Manager Approval for Windows local accounts.

    Approver type
    Select Manager.

    Escalation time in days
    Enter 10. The request escalates to the specified escalation participant when this interval of time expires.

    Escalation participant type
    Select Administrator.

  8. On the Activities notebook page, click OK again.

  9. On the Success page, click Close.
