Passwords
A password is a string of characters used to authenticate a user's access to a system. A user ID and password are the two elements that grant access to a system.
As an administrator, we can manage user passwords and the passwords that are set for the users used by IBM Security Identity Manager .

We can administer and define forgotten password information so users can reset forgotten IBM Security Identity Manager passwords. The information is in the format of questions and answers.- Password synchronization
Password synchronization is the process of assigning and maintaining one password for all individual accounts that a user owns. Password synchronization reduces the number of passwords that a user must remember.- Password strength rules
A password strength rule is a rule or requirement to which a password must conform. For example, password strength rules might specify that the minimum number of characters of a password must be five.
