Reconnecting a node into the cluster
Use the Cluster Node Configuration page to reconnect a node into the cluster of ISIM virtual appliance.
Depending on your requirement, we can reconnect a node into the cluster for the following reasons:
We can reconnect only a member node back to the cluster from the Appliance Dashboard of a member node. We must provide the primary node details to reconnect a node into the cluster. Add the temporarily removed member node only to the primary node from which it was disconnected.
- Add a previously configured node to a cluster to increase scalability.
- A node that was shut off for maintenance is revived and must be introduced back in the cluster.
- If we see a reconnect notification on the Appliance Dashboard of a member node.
The Configure > Manage Cluster menu is displayed only in a cluster environment and not in a stand-alone environment.
- From the top-level menu of the Appliance Dashboard, click Configure > Manage Cluster > Cluster Node Configuration.
- On the Cluster Node Configuration page, select the member node record. We can see only the existing member node entry on the Cluster Node Configuration page.
- Click Reconnect. The Reconnect Node window is displayed.
- On the Reconnect Node window, provide the details for the node to reconnect into the cluster.
- Primary node host name
- The host name of the primary node. For example, isimva1.jk.example.com.
- Primary node administrator
- The user ID of the primary node administrator. For example, admin.
- Primary node administrator password
- The administrator password of the primary node.
- Click Yes to confirm. The member node is reconnected into the cluster. Reconnecting a permanently removed member node from the cluster is as good as setting up a new member node in the cluster.
- Optional: Click Refresh to display the recently updated data.
