WebSphere Portal - Express includes the following new features:

• Support for iSeries V5R2

  This version of WebSphere Portal supports iSeries V5R2. For information on supported software, see the Supported Hardware and Software topic.

  Use the IBM Web Administration for iSeries tool when configuring WebSphere Portal instances. The wizard creates the necessary servers (HTTP and WAS), configures the server for Portal, configures the database for Portal, configures security (LDAP) for Portal, and deploys the portlets that are installed with the WebSphere Portal product. You can edit the Portal instance configuration manually after you have used the WebSphere Portal wizard.

• Support for WAS V5.0.2

  WAS V5.0.2 is required for this version of WebSphere Portal.

• Portal Toolkit support for WebSphere Studio V5.1

  The Portal Toolkit that is shipped with this version of WebSphere Portal now supports WebSphere Studio V5.1 for portal development.

• Support for Lotus Sametime V3.1

  You can now use instant messaging and online awareness, based on Lotus Sametime V3.1 technology.
