People Finder configuration mode


The fields of the People Finder portlet determine the layout and content of its views. The People Finder is preconfigured with fields that correspond to the attributes defined by WebSphere Member Manager.

For additional information on setting up the views of the People Finder portlet, while in People Finder Configuration mode, click the Help icon on the portlet.

 

People Finder fields

The preconfigured fields of the People Finder enable the display of information about people in several views. As an administrator or designer, you can use configuration mode to customize views by selecting and ordering the fields that appear in each view:

  • Business Card fields
  • Sections for Person Record and Advanced Search
  • Person Record fields
  • Advanced Search Queries fields
  • Advanced Search Results fields
  • Quick Search Queries fields
  • Quick Search Results fields
  • Organization View fields

Business Card fields

The table below lists the WebSphere Member Manager attributes that appear as fields in the Business Card section of the People Finder. The Business Card is preconfigured to display the following fields as lines in descending order. Business Card fields do not display labels, and fields that contain no information are not displayed. For each attribute listed, the field label and display type are identified. Unless noted, the default display type of an attribute is a text string.

Advanced Search Queries

Advanced Search criteria are preconfigured to include most of the same fields that are available for the Person Record. In general, only fields corresponding to attributes of data type String are available as search criteria. Attributes of data type Numeric, Object, or MemberLink are not available for search.

The following fields are not available for selection as Advanced Search criteria in the People Finder. Users cannot search for people using these fields because the attributes are not type String.
