Software fixes

You can use fixes to install and manage software and software updates.

IBM supports several different releases of the operating system, and businesses might have several systems running different versions. This can cause some system operations to be more complex; different versions of the operating system can contain new or changed functions and features. Moreover, IBM provides updates to the operating system and other programs between releases in sets of program temporary fixes (PTFs), also known as fixes. The PTFs that have been applied to a system can also affect system operations. iSeries™ Navigator provides ways to manage the software and fixes across a business.
