Performing resource management
Use the information from your preparation and installation to resolve the LPAR configuration error if it appears and to reassign or rename resources, as appropriate. To complete this resource management, perform these tasks:
- Resolving LPAR configuration error
If a logical partition configuration error was detected when you turned on the system after the new I/O adapter installation, you can perform these steps.- Reassigning buses and IOPs
These steps reassign the new buses and IOPs to the required partition or partitions, which in turn correct the partition configuration errors.- Cleaning up the server
After the new bus numbers have been reassigned to the correct partitions and all partitions turn on successfully in manual mode, follow these procedures to remove the old I/O resources from the logical partition I/O resources.- Renaming resources for each partition
Use these instructions to set partition resource names to previous values.
