Hardware and software requirements
Listed here are the hardware and software requirements for configuring i5/OS® for IPv6.
Configuring an Ethernet line for IPv6
Your system should meet these requirements to configure IPv6 on an Ethernet line:
- i5/OS Version 5 Release 4.
- iSeries™ Access for Windows® and iSeries Navigator:
- Network component of iSeries Navigator.
- IPv6-capable router, if you want to send IPv6 traffic beyond the immediate LAN.
- TCP/IP (using IPv4), configured because TCP/IP must be running on the system. If you have not configured your system for IPv4, see Configuring TCP/IP for the first time before configuring the line for IPv4.
