Creating a new IPv6 interface
You can also use IPv6 by using the new wizard to manually create a new IPv6 interface. To create a new IPv6 interface, follow these steps:
- In iSeries™ Navigator, expand Network > TCP/IP Configuration > IPv6.
- Right-click Interface, and then select New Interface.
- Follow the steps in the New IPv6 Interface wizard to create the new IPv6 interface. The new interface appears in the right panel when you finish the configuration.
- Right-click the new IPv6 interface, and then select Start.
You can also check the Start when TCP/IP is started check box in the New IPv6 Interface wizard to ensure that it starts automatically the next time that you start TCP/IP.
- In iSeries Navigator, select Network > TCP/IP Configuration > Utilities > Ping to test the new IPv6 interface and verify that it connects to the network.
The New Interface menu item is enabled only if you have *IOSYSCFG authority.
