Editing an entry
Use this information to edit an entry in the directory tree.
- If you have not done so already, expand the Directory management category in the navigation area, then click Manage entries. You can expand the various subtrees and select the entry that you want to work on. Click Edit attributes from the right-side tool bar.
- At the Required attributes tab enter the values for the required attributes. See Changing binary attributes for information about adding binary values. If you want to add more than one value for a particular attribute, click Multiple values and then add the values one at a time.
- Click Optional attributes.
- At the Optional attributes tab enter the values as appropriate for the optional attributes. If you want to add more than one value for a particular attribute, click Multiple values and then add the values one at a time.
- Click Memberships.
- If you have created any groups, at the Memberships tab:
- Select a group from Available groups and click Add to make the entry a member of the selected Static group membership.
- Select a group from Static group memberships and click Remove to remove the entry from the selected group.
- If the entry is a group entry, a Members tab is available. The Members tab displays the members of the selected group. You can add and remove members from the group.
- To add a member to the group:
- Either click Multiple values by the Members tab or at the Members tab, click Members.
- In the Member field, enter the DN of the entry you want to add.
- Click Add.
- Click OK.
- To remove a member from the group:
- Either click Multiple values by the Members tab or click the Members tab and click Members.
- Select the entry you want to remove.
- Click Remove.
- Click OK.
- To refresh the members list, click the Update.
- Click OK to change the entry.
