Recovering from a communications problem
To resolve problems with communications, follow this procedure.
- Make sure that all communications equipment, such as modems or transceiver are powered on.
- Make sure all communications cables are correctly connected.
- Make sure the remote system is ready to receive communications.
- Verify the network equipment (or provider) is functional. This includes telephone service (for example, verify the status of communications lines).
- Verify that the configuration is correctly specified for the failing communications or LAN facility.
- If you still have the same problem, contact your hardware service provider.
