Searching for a document library
Search for a document library using the Document Libraries portlet.
The document library search feature is useful for quickly locating a specific library when you are managing a large number of document libraries. If you want to search for documents across one or more document libraries, see Searching for documents.
- Navigate to the Document Libraries page.
- Select one of these search types from the Search By drop-down menu:
- Name contains: Searches for words in the document library name.
- Description contains: Searches for words in the document library description.
- All available: Displays all document libraries that you are authorized to modify.
- Enter search parameters in the Search field, and click the Search button. Search parameters are case-sensitive. If a document library has uppercase letters in the library name, you should enter the name with the correct letter case in the Search field. Do not use the wildcard character * (asterisk). Search results include only document libraries that you are authorized to modify.
- Including a document library in the Search Center
Make a document library searchable by including it in the Search Center.
