Copying the Java files for chat and awareness in Inline QuickPlace

Because the Inline QuickPlace portlet uses an iFrame, configure files directly on the IBM® Lotus® QuickPlace® server to support awareness in the portlet.

These instructions assume that the awareness feature has been independently tested on the IBM Lotus Sametime® server and is functioning properly, and that multi-server Single Sign-On (SSO) is set up between the Lotus Sametime and Lotus QuickPlace servers.

To support awareness, you download the Sametime Java Toolkit, and copy Java files from the toolkit and from the Lotus QuickPlace server to a subdirectory of the Lotus Domino data directory on the Lotus Sametime server. Perform the following steps:

  1. On the Lotus Sametime server, install the Lotus Sametime Java Toolkit for release 6.5.x. You can download the toolkit from the Lotus section of the IBM developerWorks Web site (http://www.ibm.com/developerworks). Select Lotus > Downloads, click the Toolkits tab, scroll to the table of Sametime: Lotus Instant Messaging 6.5.x toolkits, and download the Lotus Instant Messaging and Web Conferencing Java toolkit and its documentation from the provided links. Follow the instructions in the provided documentation for installation.

  2. In the Lotus Domino data directory of the Lotus Sametime server, create the following subdirectory: 

    domino_data_root/Domino/html/QuickPlace/peopleonline

  3. Copy the files STComm.jar, CommRes.jar, and PeopleOnline31.jar to the domino_data_root/QuickPlace/peopleonline subdirectory you created in the previous step. These files can be found in the locations cited in the following table.
