Application template pages
Use the Application Layout portlet to view, create, and manage pages defined by the template for instances of applications that are created from the template. From the drop-down menu of an application template that is listed in the Application Template Library, click Edit Template Layout to work with template pages.
Each application template defines the pages for the applications. The pages defined in the template propagate to all instances of applications created from the template. You can create and delete the pages of a template and edit page content, appearance, and layout. Use the Application Layout portlet to perform the following actions:
- View the list of pages defined in the template by title, unique name, and status, Active or Inactive.
- Click the Status link of a page to deactivate or activate the page.
- Edit the properties of the page.
- Edit the layout of the page.
- Export the page.
- Mark the page and its child pages to move them to another page of the template.
- Order the pages in the template by moving them up or down in the page list.
- Delete a page if necessary by clicking the Delete icon.
- Click the title of a page in the list to edit its child pages.
- Click New page to create a new page and specify its properties and layout.
- Click New label to create a new label and specify its properties.
Managing template pages is similar to working with pages in other work site contexts, with the following exceptions:
- Search options are not available.
- Navigation is restricted to the selected template or application.
- HTML is the only supported page markup.
- URL pages are not supported.
For more information about managing the content, appearance, and layout of template pages, see the Help topics that are available from the Application Layout portlet of the application template.
