An HTTP server instance is not required to install WebSphere Application Server. However, it is recommended to support requests for servlets and JavaServer Pages (JSP) resources managed by WebSphere Application Server. This topic discusses how to configure HTTP servers for the iSeries server.
The IBM HTTP Server (original) is not supported for WebSphere Application Server V6.0.
You are able to configure remote HTTP Servers residing on other supported platforms which route requests to WebSphere Application Server running on the iSeries server.
You can also use the internal HTTP transport to support requests.
